Construction update:
As you can see from the pictures, the secondary wing is coming together! We're at the phase of construction where not much progress is going on outside but lots going on inside! The carpet tiles have been installed in classrooms (covered with plastic in the picture). If you'll recall, the hallways and main entryway will be terrazzo. That work will begin in the secondary hallway in a couple of weeks. As much work as possible will need to be done because once terrazzo is poured, the curing process takes 2 weeks with no foot traffic.
Calendar for 2022-23:
In the coming weeks, your input will be needed in planning our calendar for next year. Parent and community input is vital to getting all perspectives on what's best for our kids.
Texas elections:
Early voting has already begun and runs through next Friday. The election day for primaries in this state is March 1. You may also be aware of recent attacks on the teaching profession by some of our state leaders. I strongly encourage you to vote in this and every election. Support of public schools helps all of us.
Snow days:
Right now our minutes for the 2021-22 school year are in good shape. We will not need to make up the two snow days from earlier this month. After spring break, we have two planned Fridays off - April 15 and 29.
