Since December of 2020, our district has participated in the state COVID-19 testing program. The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) partnered with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to help support testing in school districts that are offering in-person learning. By conducting tests on campus, schools can prevent the virus from coming on campus and can quickly respond by removing individuals who test positive before they can spread COVID on campus.
In the past six weeks, Eden CISD has administered over 100 tests. Since our program started in December of 2020, Eden CISD has administered almost 250 Abbott BinaxNOW COVID-19 Antigen tests. Testing is offered at no cost for enrolled students and staff members. Testing is offered three times daily - 7:30 - 9am, 11am - 12:30pm, and 2pm - 4pm.
