Eden E

November 13, 2023

On Sunday night, November 12, Eden CISD was made aware of a threat against the district. The threat did not come from an Eden student but from a student several miles away from our community. The Concho County Sheriff's Office was immediately notified and began an investigation. The investigation found that the threat was not credible. As a precautionary measure, all activities scheduled for Monday, November 13, were canceled until the investigation was completed.

I want to stress that our students were never in any danger. These actions are a part of the Eden CISD Emergency Operations Plan. We are thankful for our strong partnership with the Concho County Sheriff’s Office and their swift investigation. We are also thankful for the students and staff who reported this information. We encourage anyone with knowledge about threats, credible or not, to immediately inform campus administration or local law enforcement.

Making threats of this nature can lead to significant legal consequences. Parents, as appropriate, please talk to your children about the seriousness of these behaviors. Any threat needs to be reported rather than shared on social media.

Classes will resume on Tuesday as scheduled. Thank you for helping keep Eden CISD safe and for partnering with us in the education of our students.
